Next Sunday, 19 November, sees the 163rd Hospices de Beaune wine auction. I shall be there to watch the scene unfold, enjoying all the festivities that surround this world-famous event, as the streets come alive with musicians and parades, and food stalls provide colour to the Place Carnot, and sustenance to the city's visitors.
